The Fond-de-Gras in Niederkorn is once again the setting for an offbeat event that just knows how to amaze. So grab your longcoats and find your way to the Minett Park this weekend!
But before we dive into the event that takes place Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 September , we should maybe explain what exactly 'Steampunk' is.
The organizers of the event describe it as "a unique world in which the steam engine and electricity are the sole sources of energy. The aesthetics of this movement, in which the scenery of the show is inspired by the industrial architecture of the late 19th century, is occupied by women in long dresses and men in top hats".
On the one hand the impressive outfits look like they belong in the past, on the other hand, you can see and feel the futuristic elements in them.
After the well-known break many events had to endure during the past two years, novelties will not be lacking. This convention will really bring you back to old times.

Throughout the weekend, the Fond-de-Gras will offer many street art shows, magicians, tea duels and other performances, and many enthusiasts will present their cabinets of curiosities. A huge Victorian market with more than 50 stalls offers a wide range of clothing, accessories, drawings, jewellery and other steampunk collectibles.
Next to the old printing press, which is still operated entirely by hand and whose beautiful machines still work, and the blacksmith's shop, which is also operated entirely by hand, the Tesla experiment will electrifyingly captivate you.
In case you need a little snack before you head from one attraction to the other: You can satisfy your small appetite with traditional food, tarte flambée, vegetarian food, pancakes and waffles. To combat the big thirst, there is a selection of drinks in the railway shed that will leave nothing to be desired.
And of course there is plenty to do for the children as well: They can enjoy an enchanting ride on the fancy carousel before entering a crazy colourful world with a real circus performer.
But what really gives the event a unique atmosphere are the thousands of visitors dressed with care and originality: the show will be everywhere!
Best of it all, the admission, as well as the entertainment to this event is free!
