Vosges (FR)Speed camera thwarted by feathered fowl

Romain Van Dyck
This speeding motorist was fortunate not to be flashed by a speed camera after a pigeon concealed the licence plate.

The driver of the Mini had a stroke of luck when speeding past a radar - a bird came between the car and the camera, concealing the licence plate and enabling the Mini to escape without a fine.

The Gendarmerie des Vosges shared the photo on social media, and reminded readers that while the instance was amusing, one cannot always rely on a bird, and should always respect speed limits to avoid fines.

It is not the first time a bird has tricked a speed camera: last May, we reported on a pigeon which was caught travelling at 45 km/h by a German speed camera.
