3. Take in contemporary jazz with Eran Har Even

What: Apéro Jazz
Where: Neimënster, 28 Rue Münster, 2160 Luxembourg
When:
Sunday, 13 September at 11am - reservation required

Eran Har Even is an Edison nominated Israeli guitarist, composer and a faculty member of the Conservatory of Amsterdam. On his new album ‘World Citizen’ Eran presents a contemporary vision of jazz music which is crossing sonic borders and fusing cultures. ‘World Citizen’ is a result of many years of being far away from home. Seeing the world as one big source of inspiration resulted in a path of self-discovery. He has become a world citizen with views far from patriotism and nationalism; learning to be open to different opinions and cultural heritage and treasure the uniqueness of every person he encounters. This multicultural way of experiencing life makes Eran’s playing and composing unique. Different musical styles are fused into one own sound, making this an album for like-minded globetrotters.

4. Attend screening of “I am Not Legend” by Andrea Mastrovito

What: Special screening of Italian multimedia artist
Where: Mudam, 3, Park Dräi Eechelen, L-1499 Luxembourg-Kirchberg
When: Saturday, 12 September - Sunday, 13 September - 11am, 1pm and 3pm - reservation required

I Am Not Legend looks at the question of identity and our relationships with otherness and death, through a contemporary reinterpretation of one of the masterpieces of cinema, George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead (1968). In his animated version of the film, Mastrovito has removed all the zombies and changed the scenario so that all characters talk exclusively in quotes from the most famous films, books and songs of our era. Through the animation of more than 100,000 images in which digital printing merges with painting and erasure, his work offers a poetic reading of our times.
