Employees at a British company no longer have to pull a sickie when they've had one too many, as the company now accepts so-called "hangover days".
To prevent employees from coming into the office in a hungover state, a business in Bolton has implemented a "hangover day" policy, to be booked in advance for those planning a big night out.
The director of digital marketing agency The Audit Lab said the company wanted to offer perks to its younger employees and to attract young talent from bigger cities.
The flexible working policy allows employees who have overindulged to work from home, with the idea being they would be more effective if they can relax in pyjamas rather than dragging themselves to the office.
Strictly speaking, the concept is merely working from home under a new name, but it accentuates a respectful relationship between employer and employees and thus far has not been abused, according to the director.
