In May, Prime Minister Luc Frieden expressed Luxembourg's intention to participate in Eurovision Song Contest 2027. This has now been confirmed by the government, which also announced that Luxembourg will take part in the next three editions of the contest.
The Grand Duchy has been crowned Eurovision winners on five seperate occasions, and following a 30-year hiatus (1994–2024) the country has committed to extending its return to one of the largest entertainment events in the world.
According to the press release, the stated goal of the Grand Duchy's renewed commitment to Eurovision is to strengthen the country's presence on the European music scene: "This decision provides the visibility and stability to continue developing the Eurovision project in Luxembourg."
A further announcement was the official date for the Luxembourg Song Contest 2027, which will be held at Rockhal in Esch-sur-Alzette on 30 January 2027. The application dates have not yet been confirmed, however this will be announced in July.
