The Charlatans have unveiled “Deeper and Deeper,” the second track from their upcoming 14th album We Are Love, out 31 October via BMG.

Driven by a swirling Hammond organ, fat basslines, and fuzzy guitars, the song channels the band’s signature psychedelic groove while pushing into fresh territory.

“It kicks in with a sense of immediacy… the Hammond organ leads the way and hands you over to the irresistible and relentless bassline,” says frontman Tim Burgess, "it’s Altered States meets Pincher Martin  - the Hammond organ leads the way and hands you over to the irresistible and relentless bassline- a sense of giving in to what surrounds you. Sometimes it’s where you should be going. But you only get the answer once you can’t turn back.”

Arriving after their longest break between albums, EIGHT years, We Are Love reunites Burgess, Martin Blunt, Mark Collins, Tony Rogers, and drummer Pete Salisbury with a dream team of producers including Dev Hynes, Fred Macpherson, and Stephen Street, then, proof that, four decades in, The Charlatans are still evolving.
