One of the most powerful live acts of the past decade, Fontaines D.C. are heading to Luxembourg for a sold-out show at Neimënster on 8 July — and Today Radio is giving you a chance to be there.

One of the most electrifying live bands of the past decade is coming to Luxembourg, and Today Radio has your way in. Fontaines D.C. will perform at Neimënster on 8 July for a rare, relatively intimate show booked by den Atelier – an event that sold out almost immediately. Now, thanks to Today Radio, you still have a shot at being there.

Formed in Dublin and now based in London, Fontaines D.C. are a band whose sound reflects the tension, poetry, and disaffection of modern life. Their music draws from post-punk but refuses to stay within its boundaries, blending spoken-word vocals, tightly wound guitars, and a shifting sense of atmosphere. The lyrics, often delivered in a half-sung, half-spoken style by frontman Grian Chatten, draw as much from literature as they do from lived experience, focusing on identity, alienation, and cultural memory.

Their debut album Dogrel (2019) introduced a band both grounded and restless, mixing raw energy with references to poets like Patrick Kavanagh and James Joyce. Follow-up A Hero’s Death (2020) veered into darker, more meditative territory and earned them a Grammy nomination. In 2022, Skinty Fia pushed the sound further still, denser, moodier, and more experimental, while topping charts in Ireland and the UK. Rather than chasing anthems, Fontaines D.C. chase truth, however messy or unresolved it may be.
