Here at RTL Today Radio we’ve cultivated a bit of a rep as being tastemakers in the GD.

So, alongside our more general daytime playlist, we go about snapping up some of the best new track we can find. Here are five of those very things right here....

Sam Fender – The Treadmill

Sam Fender, an RTL Today Radio fave, is back with a raw, driving indie-rock confessional. The Treadmill hits like a sprint you can’t escape, all pressure, heartbreak, and momentum.
Simple visuals, powerful lyrics, maximum emotional impact.

Hit-Boy & The Alchemist – Doing My Best

Two production heavyweights combine for a track that’s equal parts honesty and swagger. Hit-Boy lays out real life in sharp detail while Alchemist keeps the beat smoky and soulful. Sits nicely among the more anodyne releases out there at the mo. No flash, just craft, confidence, and clarity.

Catching Cairo – High Speed Chase

Catching Cairo glides through a sleek, late-night DnB, R&B (maybe Air B&B)-electro hybrid. It’s smooth, rhythmic, and pulsing with “on the move” energy. One of those tracks that feels effortless but lands instantly. Perfect for those naughty late night/early morning drives home.

Al Nicol – Marylebone

Al Nicol (unofficial friend of the station) delivers a gentle indie-folk moment built on warmth and subtle storytelling. His vocal sits soft and close, like a quiet conversation on a long walk. A simple, steady tune that sticks with you. Sahsa says it put her in a trance, which, if we are being honest might not go on Al’s tour merch tees, but really does set the tome well.

Softcult – Queen of Nothing

Softcult brings grunge mood and emotional grit in a track that cuts deep. It’s vulnerable, defiant, and anchored by a killer hook. The video is brilliant, and leans into the raw DIY grungey / shoegazey energy.
