We're now in the middle of April and so spring has definitely started. As the temperatures climb, slowly but surely, here’s a recommendation of 7 songs to add to your spring playlist.
Ed Sheeran & Camilla Cabello - Bam Bam
This collaboration was my song of the spring last year. It was on repeat from the moment of it's release, last march, until the end of summer. This song is about getting over hard times and coming out of the other side after the end of a relationship. It fits perfectly with the theme of rebirth during the spring season.
Mae Muller - I wrote a Song
The UK entry for the Eurovision song contest is the most recent addition to my spring playlist. Not letting yourself be brought down by a bad ending of a relationship but instead choosing to go out with your friends, is the mood we need for spring.
Belinda Carlisle - Heaven is a Place on Earth
This is a timeless 80’s classic but also a quintessential spring song. The uplifting beat plays right into our 80’s Nostalgia with lyrics about falling in love; perfect for a spring fling.
ABBA - Dancing Queen
A classic and timeless song that reminds us all of the good old times when we spent the whole night dancing and being “young and sweet, only seventeen”.
Farruko - Pepas
This high energy electronic smash-hit from last year is the song you need to listen to at full volume in the car on your way to your favourite bar or nightclub. Or maybe it’s just the song to put on to get motivated for the annual spring cleaning. Either way it should be on your spring playlist.
Taylor Swift - Bejeweled
The second single of Taylor’s latest album, "Midnights," is all about looking and feeling your best. It has a spot on my spring playlist as this is the mood I need. The live performance of the song on her current tour is also worth checking out.
Backstreet Boys - I Want it that Way
This infectious late 90’s cult classic immediately puts a smile on your face. It’s impossible not to sing along, therefore it’s the perfect song to listen to when you’re out and about with friends and finally enjoying the warmer spring weather.
