In an exclusive video for RTL, Jana Bahrich from Luxembourg's most exciting band Francis of Delirium shares her experience of touring the United States.
Francis of Delirium are fresh off their first tour of North America, where they played dozens of gigs across some of the US and Canada's biggest cities.
They're led by 20-year-old, Vancouver-born Jana Bahrich, who's been based in Luxembourg for the past few years and has been making some serious waves in the rock and grunge scene.
The band's 2021 EP Wading was rated an impressive 7.4 by reviewers Pitchfork, and their latest EP titled The Funhouse was released this April.
We've seen the band on RTL Today before of course - they played a livestream set as part of our lockdown sessions back in 2020, and we interviewed Jana that same year after the release of their single Ashamed.
Jana also played the first of the Rockhal Pop-Up Sessions - you can watch her truly incredible performance on RTL Play here.
In the video, produced by Crossfire for RTL, Jana discusses the highs and lows of touring the US.
The most difficult part was the organisation and planning, she says. Fortunately, the band secured funding from Luxembourg's Arts Council (Kultur | lx) and the Ministry of Culture, which paid for their visas and the tour van.
On the road, they stayed with friends of friends and were amazed by the willingness of complete strangers to take them in.
There were some trials and tribulations: a couple of shows were cancelled due to Covid cases, and they weren't always able to explore cities as much as they would have liked, although they did manage to visit the Arches National Park in Utah.
But overall, Jana says, the tour was 'so successful'. It was an incredible journey which took them to 16 states as well as Canada and DC, and Jana continues: 'You can't ask for more! I could do this forever.'
With the way her career is going, she might well be doing this for a long, long time.
