Over 200 producers, screenwriters and actors protested against the heavy - and indeed, increasingly so - censorship in the culture industry.

Up until now the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance has to first authorise screenplays and screenings before they can proceed.

In a letter sent to the Chief of justice, those within the industry are fighting against discrimination, oppression and in some cases, prison sentences.
