Luxembourgish actress Vicky Kries, best known for her role in Oscar-nominated Phantom Thread, is considered one of the best television actresses in Germany at the moment.
On Thursday evening, Krieps was awarded the prize of ‘best actress’ at the 2019 German Television Awards in Düsseldorf. Krieps received the award for her role in Das Boot, which had nine nominations at the award, winning two of those.
The film also won the award in the ‘best cinematography’ category.

The TV series Bad Banks, co-produced by the Luxembourgish Iris Productions and Letterbox, ZDF, and Arte, and featuring Luxembourgish actress Désirée Nosbusch, had six nominations.
The show came away with two awards: best director (Christian Schwochow) and best drama series.
