We will be answering these questions in a new summer series that will look at Luxembourg’s small bookshops. We’ll be taking you through the various stores, what they have to offer and how they differ from each other.
The new manager of Alinea, the first in our series, Elmira Najafi has ensured that the establishment has not only received a makeover but continues to go above and beyond.

Alinea set up shop on Rue Beaumont in 1995. Its new manager, Iranian Elmira Najafi, aged 35, has not only given the place a new face, but has also taken to organise concerts, entertainment and other kinds of cultural events, in the hopes of providing something fresh in contrast to Luxembourg’s state library and drawing in new clientele.
Najafi maintains a healthy relationship and levels of communication with clients, and with this as a priority she remains rather confident in respect to the opening of FNAC at the end of this year.
