Every two years, the national support fund for audiovisual production (Film Fund Luxembourg) and the Luxembourg Film Academy crown the winners of the 'Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis' (Luxembourg Film Prize in English) at the Grand Théâtre in Luxembourg.
This year, 14 awards were up for grabs, with 66 nominations. Now already in its 11th edition, the Luxembourg Film Prize rewards the best contributions to Luxembourg's cinematic landscape.
"Creatively speaking, things are really taking off. It's clear by the exceptional quality [of this year's nominees]", said Fred Neuen, President of the Film Academy.
Thousands of people work in the film industry in Luxembourg, both in front of and behind the camera, and Luxembourg's film industry is rapidly cementing its international recognition.
This year's Best Film award was given to Éric Lamhène's Out of Hale, which won a total of two awards. Loïc Tanson's Läif à Séil won the most awards of the evening, with four.
