Over 80 stories were submitted by some of Luxembourg's sharpest young pens, and our jury has now selected their five favourites in each age category. Who gets your vote? Read or listen to the stories and cast your vote here!

Back in 2023 we happened upon a post in a Facebook group for parents, asking for places where young authors could get their stories published. Given that we love writing and storytelling, we immediately sprung to action, teamed up with Ernster, and kicked off the first annual Young Authors Contest.

Last year marked the second edition of the contest, and together with Ernster we took things one – no, two! – steps further. First, we introduced a book containing all of the stories, and as further bonus we decided to throw a prize ceremony at Walfer Bicherdeeg (the book fair in Walferdange). This year is certainly not taking a step back, as we're making a second book and holding another prize ceremony!

This year we were yet again blown away by the quality of the stories that were submitted... as well as the quantity! We've set a new record each year so far, and with over 80 stories submitted this year was no exception.

After much discussion, we have found our ten finalists (five in each age category) – and it's now up to you to cast your vote, and help us select the winners of the 2025 edition!

You can read all of the stories below or, better yet, listen to them as told by talented Today Radio colleagues. We will also be running a special Young Authors radio show on Wednesday 3 September at 11am on Today Radio, which will then be available for replay on the Sam Steen page on RTL Play.

Once you've picked your favourite, simply cast your vote through the form (if you can't see the vote form, you may need to adjust your cookie settings at the bottom of the page; you can always change it back afterwards).

The vote

Note: You are allowed one vote per day. Voting closes at 11.59pm on Sunday 7 September.
