2 – American Sweatshop offers a gripping and intense exploration of the dark impact social media can have on those behind the scenes. The story centers on Daisy Moriarty, played by Lili Reinhart, a young woman juggling a turbulent personal life while working in a hidden, high-stress job.
Daisy and a diverse group of coworkers are employed by agencies that sift through the endless flood of harmful and offensive content posted online, reviewing violent and disturbing images and videos to keep social platforms "safe."
Her obsessive pursuit to find and hold the person responsible pulls her into a perilous and shadowy world far beyond the digital screens, where the lines between victim and hunter blur.
The film is directed by Emmy® Award nominee Uta Briesewitz, known for her work on acclaimed series like Stranger Things and Severance, with a screenplay penned by Matthew Nemeth, writer for City on a Hill. Together, they craft a tense, thought-provoking drama that shines a light on the often invisible emotional toll of moderating the internet’s darkest content.
3 - If I Had Legs I’d Kick You Linda (Rose Byrne), a mother teetering on the brink of a breakdown, finds herself overwhelmed by multiple crises: her daughter's mysterious and serious illness, an absent husband, a missing person in her orbit, and her increasingly hostile relationship with a therapist.
Her world literally comes crashing down when a hole opens up in her bedroom ceiling, forcing her and her ailing daughter to relocate to a seedy motel. As Linda struggles to manage daycare, her own therapy practice, and the demands of motherhood, she grapples with isolation and escalating anxiety.
