Fans of the iconic rock mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap have reason to rejoice: the long-awaited sequel, Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, now has an official release date and a tantalising first teaser.

The film is scheduled to hit cinemas in the US on 12 September 2025, bringing back the legendary fictional band for another round of satirical rock 'n' roll chaos. EU dates are yet to be confirmed.

The newly released teaser offers a nostalgic nod to the original film, showing the band's signature amplifier dial being cranked beyond the infamous 11 setting, promising that this time, they're going even further. Expect the same blend of musical mayhem, egos run wild, and hilariously disastrous gigs that made the first film such a beloved classic.

This Is Spinal Tap, first released in 1984, became one of the most iconic comedies of all time, with its pitch-perfect satire of the rock lifestyle. Forty years later, the sequel looks set to deliver another dose of absurdity, with returning stars Michael McKean, Christopher Guest, and Harry Shearer once again donning the leather and turning up the volume.

Director Rob Reiner also returns, stepping back into his role as documentarian Marty DiBergi.

So mark your calendars for September. How much more excited could we be? None more excited. For more movie news be sure to check out Screen Time on Today Radio.
