Next month, one of MUDAM's main works will be dismantled: the "Chapel" by Belgian artist Wim Delvoye.
Prime minister Xavier Bettel, who also happens to be the minister for culture, confirmed it: MUDAM will bid farewell to its "Chapel", one of the museum's most important, permanent pieces of art.
The current condition of the artwork will be assessed and, if necessary, the "Chapel" will be restored before being put in storage.
The new available space (20 m2) will be used for educational activities. Access to restrooms will also be improved, and works so far not available for public viewing will be put on display.
The decision was taken by the new MUDAM director Suzanne Cotter, who took office in January.
There is still a month left to admire this exceptional and subversive piece of art.
