Luxembourg's annual sports awards ceremony will take place on 3 December in Mondorf-les-Bains, recognising the year's outstanding sporting achievements. This year's shortlist, published by Sportspress.lu, includes 13 male athletes, among them last year's winner and title holder, Ruben Querinjean for athletics.
The defending women's champion, Patrizia van der Weken, has also made the list again, facing competition from 11 other nominees. For the team of the year category, members of the Luxembourg sports press will choose from seven teams, while eight candidates are in the running for coach of the year.
In addition to the main awards, several special prizes will be presented, including the "Jeune Espoir" (Young Hope) award, which this year goes to swimmer Emma Barthel and triathlete Sebastian Ziekman.
