At a competition in the US, Luxembourg swimmer Rémi Fabiani broke his own national record for the 50-metre backstroke in a 50-metre pool.

On Thursday evening, the Luxembourg Swimming Federation announced that Rémi Fabiani had broken the national record for the 50-metre backstroke in a long-course pool, with a time of 25.36 seconds, thereby qualifying for the A final at the competition in Indianapolis, United States.

Fabiani had previously set the record himself in 2024.
