
Luxembourg runner Michèle Hilger-Henricy delivered a standout performance at the Marathon du Mont-Blanc, winning her category on the demanding 42km course.
The course included 2,540 metres of elevation gain, with Hilger-Henricy completing it in 8 hours, 5 minutes, and 18 seconds. The Luxembourg runner finished 1,190th overall, 219th among the women, and first in the M5 F age category.
France's Magali Machin finished second in the category, 4 minutes and 53 seconds behind the Luxembourg athlete, while Dutch runner Iris Seijsener took third place.
Another Luxembourg runner, Carole Felgen, competed in the M3 F category but was forced to withdraw.
In the men's race, Frank Goetzinger represented Luxembourg in the M3 H category. He completed the 42km course in 9 hours, 40 minutes, and 17 seconds, finishing 1,884th overall and 114th in his category.
Switzerland's Rémi Bonnet won the race in 3 hours, 33 minutes, and 14 seconds.
A total of 2,048 runners completed the 42km event, while 228 withdrew.
