At the Diamond League meeting in Stockholm, Luxembourg’s Patrizia van der Weken placed sixth in the 100 metres, while Julien Alfred set a meeting record and Armand Duplantis broke his own pole vault world record in front of a home crowd.

Van der Weken finished with a time of 11.18 seconds. The race was won by Julien Alfred from St. Lucia.

Alfred completed the distance in 10.75 seconds, setting a new meeting record. Second and third place went to Dina Asher-Smith (10.93 seconds) and Marie-Josée Ta Lou-Smith (11.00 seconds), respectively.

Van der Weken’s time was 0.18 seconds off her national record. After appearances in Doha and Oslo, this was her third Diamond League start of the season.

There was also a world record on home soil for Swedish pole vaulter Armand Duplantis, who cleared 6.28 metres, improving his own world record by one centimetre.
