This year’s 53rd edition of the iconic Nürburgring 24-hour race will feature a Luxembourg-based team, with a line-up of seasoned drivers aiming for victory in the Cup 2 class.
The 48Losch Motorsport by Black Falcon team will field the #948 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, piloted by Luxembourg’s Dylan Pereira and Carlos Rivas, alongside Germany’s Tobias Müller and Noah Nagelsdiek.
Pereira, the 2022 Porsche Supercup champion, enters the race in strong form, having dominated nearly every event he has contested this season. Though he has twice finished as Cup 2 class runner-up at the Nürburgring, this year he eyes the top step.
“My goal in every race is to win”, Pereira told our colleagues from RTL Télé, adding that the team is well-prepared and in good shape.
Veteran driver Carlos Rivas brings experience from multiple 24-hour race victories in lower categories, as well as extensive knowledge of the Nürburgring circuit. While acknowledging his recent limited track time, the 48-year-old Luxembourger has already competed in this season’s Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS). “Races like this demand caution – 24 hours is a long time”, Rivas emphasised in an interview with RTL.
German driver Tobias Müller rounds out the squad with unrivalled familiarity of the track, having logged an estimated 100,000 laps there over the past nine years – facilitated by the fact that he lives in the area.
With 140 cars set to compete when the race begins at 4pm on Saturday, the team is prepared – but in a gruelling 24-hour endurance challenge, anything can happen.
