After two victories in seven matches, the recently-relegated FC Metz has parted ways with coach Luc Holtz. The team currently sits at fifth place in the table, six points behind the leaders St. Etienne.
Under Holtz the team achieved four draws and a loss since the season began, in addition to the two wins, gathering ten points.
Holtz joined the team just three months ago, signing a contract until 30 June 2028. FC Metz hoped to gain promotion back to Ligue 1 this season, but the shaky start evidently had an impact on the club's directors, resulting in the removal of Holtz as manager.
French media has reported rumours that Grégory Proment could succeed Holtz as manager. It is likely the club will make a full public announcement soon.
