Luxembourg international Tiago Pereira Cardoso has been loaned out to Belgian first-division side RAAL La Louvière for the upcoming season, his club Borussia Mönchengladbach has announced.
The 20-year-old goalkeeper will spend the season in the Jupiler Pro League. In a statement on their website, Gladbach highlighted that Pereira Cardoso has already represented Luxembourg at senior level and has also featured in the Bundesliga. The club emphasised the importance of the young keeper gaining match practice in a competitive league, adding that they have had positive experiences with similar loan arrangements for goalkeepers in the past.
Pereira Cardoso has been at Mönchengladbach since 2022, having played for the club's U17, U19 and U23 sides. He made his Bundesliga debut in March 2025, keeping a clean sheet in a 3-0 victory at Heidenheim. To date, he has made five appearances in Germany's top flight and has earned eight caps for the Luxembourg national team.
In related news, another young Luxembourg international, Aiman Dardari, has been loaned out for the season – this time to Rot-Weiss Essen in the German 3. Liga. The 21-year-old attacking player spent the previous season at Greuther Fürth in the 2. Bundesliga. Essen, who finished third in the 3. Liga and narrowly missed out on promotion after losing to Fürth in the play-offs, will now host Dardari for the coming campaign.
