Neither team was able to establish a clear advantage during the game. Ettelbruck went into the break with a small lead of 43-41, despite professional player Davis being benched after three fouls in the first half. In the third quarter, Ettelbruck increased their advantage, but Steinsel brought themselves back into the game with some three point throws. Both teams were equal with just eight minutes left of play.
Ultimately, Ettelbruck pushed through the close final phase to prevail 89 -81. Adrian Delph scored 26 points while national player Philippe Gutenkauf scored 23.
Around 1,700 spectators gathered at the Coque in Kirchberg to watch the matches. On Sunday, Sparta Bertange will face Arantia Larochette. The final will take place on 7 February at the same venue.
On Friday evening, Arantia Larochette beat AB Contern 61-57 in the FLBB Cup final.
