Thousands of football supporters gathered at Glacis square on Wednesday evening to watch the second World Cup semi-final between England and Argentina on the big screen. Fans of both sides created a lively atmosphere at the site, with plenty of singing, dancing, eating, and drinking. Supporters cheered on their favourites decked out in their team kits.
Before the match, during the hydration breaks and at half-time, a DJ kept the mood up with music. After the break, England fans had a first moment to celebrate, before the Argentina fans matched them and eventually surpassed them after the later winner.
It was clear that the crowd at Glacis was loyal to the Three Lions, but England's World Cup dreams came to a crushing end after Argentina beat them 2-1 and fans had to head home with heavy hearts.
Argentina will now face Spain in the World Cup final on Sunday.
