Gerson Rodrigues has been included in the Luxembourg national football team squad for the two upcoming friendly matches against Slovenia and Ireland.

National coach Luc Holtz announced the squad on Friday morning during his team presentation. The national team's record goal scorer was found guilty in late April, on appeal, of domestic violence and bodily harm, receiving an 18-month suspended prison sentence.

The board of the Luxembourg Football Federation (FLF) has decided not to impose any further sanctions on Rodrigues. As a result, national coach Luc Holtz is free to select the striker, who currently plays for AVS Futebol in Portugal.

There have been a few changes compared to the March international fixtures. Marvin Martins and Yvandro Borges Sanches are not included this time. Meanwhile, Lars Gerson, Mica Pinto, Sébastien Thill, Aiman Dardari, and Jayson Videira return to the national squad.

For André Barrela and Diego Duarte, this marks their first call-up.

The Red Lions play Slovenia at home on Friday, 6 June at 7pm. Four days later, they will face Ireland at the Stade de Luxembourg, with kickoff at 8:45 pm.
