Patrizia van der Weken claimed victory in the 60m race at the World Indoor Tour Gold meeting in Madrid, securing first place with a time of 7.09 seconds, while fellow Luxembourger Charel Grethen finished third in the 1500m.

Patrizia van der Weken delivered a standout performance at the World Indoor Tour Gold meeting in Madrid on Friday, taking the top spot in the 60m with a time of 7.09 seconds. In the semifinals, she clocked 7.15 seconds, while her personal best for the current winter season remains 7.07 seconds, a Luxembourgish national record.

In the men's 1500m event, Charel Grethen finished third with a time of 3:39.32 minutes. The race was won by Ethiopian Melese Nberet, who crossed the finish line in 3:38.22 minutes.

Looking ahead, van der Weken and Vera Bertemes-Hoffmann (1500m) will represent Luxembourg at the Indoor European Championships in the Netherlands next week.
