Van der Weken ran the 100-metre dash at an athletics meeting in Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland at the weekend.
Although the athlete was 3 hundredths slower than her own Luxembourgish record, she beat the qualification time for the 2024 Paris Olympics by 2 hundredths, thereby becoming the first person from the Grand Duchy to qualify for the major sports tournament.
