The football championship returns this Saturday with two games: Fola vs. Rosport and Racing vs. Jeunesse.
Luxembourgish football will not be using rapid tests to check for Covid-19 infections, unlike their handball colleagues. This was decided in a meeting Wednesday evening by the teams of the LFL, the Luxembourg Football League.
There is no rule from the Ministry of Sports imposing these rapid tests.
Early in the championship, a match had to be rescheduled if a player tested positive. This has changed now and while a player with a positive PCR test will be isolated, the match can still take place.
According to our information, a few of the LFL teams had spoken out against resuming play this weekend, but this was not supported by the majority.
There are two games taking place this weekend. Fola will play Rosport and Racing will meet Jeunesse. More games will take place Sunday.
