Since last year, Stage 21 has become a more distinctive affair. The organisers did not want to miss out on this spectacle again this year. In the finale, the riders will climb Montmartre in Paris three times, a one-kilometre ascent with an average gradient of 6.5%.
Last year, Wout van Aert broke away on this climb and went on to claim a solo victory on the Champs-Élysées. It will be fascinating to see how this year's race unfolds. For the rider in the yellow jersey, the priority will be to reach the finish safely and then celebrate victory in what has been a particularly demanding Tour de France.
