Luxembourg triathlete Sebastian Ziekman secured the junior European title on Friday morning at the 2026 Europe Triathlon Sprint and Relay Championships, held in Elblag, Poland. In the event, which consisted of a 750-metre swim, a 20-kilometre bike ride, and a 5-kilometre run, the eighteen-year-old crossed the finish line first with a time of 55 minutes and 47 seconds. British athlete Lucas Gorrill finished nine seconds behind to take second place, while Austria’s Jelle Kaindl completed the podium in third.

This triumph represents Ziekman’s greatest achievement to date, following his second-place finish at the Europe Triathlon Junior Cup in Wels a month ago.

In the women’s junior race earlier in the day, Linda Krombach delivered a strong performance to finish fifth for Luxembourg. The victory went to Switzerland's Anouk Danna.
