Jack Grealish has returned to Everton on a season-long loan from Manchester City for a second consecutive campaign.
Grealish, 30, was rejuvenated by his time at the Toffees last season until a foot injury cut short his campaign in January.
"It feels so good. I'm so happy. I think I'm at my best at everything in life, not just football, when I feel loved. That's what the manager has given me, what my teammates have given me and especially what the fans have given me," Grealish said in an Everton statement.
"I had a perfect time here for the first six months, then I stayed around after I got injured. I've been watching all the Everton games in pre-season and since the season started.
"Now I feel ready to go. I'm ready to start training tomorrow and prepare for the games."
Despite costing £100 million ($135 million) when he moved from Aston Villa in 2021, Grealish fell down the pecking order at the Etihad in recent seasons.
The England international did feature for City in their opening Premier League game of the season against Bournemouth and Community Shield defeat to Arsenal.
But he was unlikely to get much more playing time for Enzo Maresca's men after the arrival of Iliman Ndiaye at the Etihad from Everton and the signing of Brazilian winger Allan.
Grealish could now go straight into David Moyes's side for Sunday's clash at home to Manchester United.
"I can't wait for this weekend. I have been doing everything I can in the past couple of months to get back to this moment," he added.
"I will be going to sleep tonight with a smile on my face, ready for training tomorrow. I can't wait to be back at Hill Dickinson on Sunday."
Everton's other business on deadline day has not gone to plan with a deal for USA international Folarin Balogun at risk of collapsing.
The Monaco forward has reportedly failed a medical leaving Everton short up front after Beto joined Fiorentina and Ndiaye's departure to City.
