They've all had their songs given a gloriously noisy punk-rock makeover by Spike and the Gimme Gimmes, who are heading to Luxembourg on Thursday 29 October. And RTL Today Radio has tickets to give away!
Formerly known as Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, this American punk-rock supergroup has spent more than three decades taking some of the world's best-loved songs, turning up the guitars, increasing the tempo and generally having a wonderful time causing musical mischief.
Fronted by Spike Slawson of Swingin' Utters fame, the band has a remarkable punk-rock pedigree. Its original members included musicians associated with NOFX, Foo Fighters and Lagwagon, and its changing line-up continues to bring together seasoned performers with a shared enthusiasm for turning familiar hits upside down.
And absolutely nothing is sacred.
Dolly Parton's Jolene becomes a frantic punk singalong. Elton John's Rocket Man gets an injection of guitar-driven energy. Gloria Gaynor's disco anthem I Will Survive is transformed into something considerably louder, while Paula Abdul's Straight Up, Culture Club's Karma Chameleon and John Denver's Country Roads have all received the Gimme Gimmes treatment.
It's a wonderfully ridiculous concept, but one that works because the musicianship is excellent and the band never forgets that live music is supposed to be fun.
Now performing as Spike and the Gimme Gimmes, the band brings its Take the Fall Tour to den Atelier in Luxembourg City on Thursday 29 October 2026.
Doors open at 7pm, with support from Christmas.
