Marc Scheer joined the Sam Steen Show on RTL Today Radio to talk about this year's event, which runs from Friday 5 June to Sunday 7 June and offers far more than just a traditional music festival.

Set in the beautiful gardens beneath Wiltz Castle, Garden Sounds combines an eclectic live music programme with regional food, craft drinks, and a relaxed outdoor atmosphere.

"The idea is to combine this natural environment with a vibrant and eclectic music programme", Marc explained. "The garden is transformed into a vibrant stage."

A diverse line-up across two music-filled days

Friday's programme leans towards alternative and electronic sounds, featuring Italian dream-pop artist Gaïa Banfi, French electro-pop performer Josy Basar, Swiss act Barbicop, and Austrian post-punk favourites Friedberg.

Marc singled out Banfi as one of Europe's emerging artists to watch.

"She has this really cinematic sound, very dream-pop", he said. "She was one of the highlights of the recent showcase festivals around Europe."

Saturday turns up the volume with a strong rock-focused line-up featuring Luxembourg favourites No Metal In This Battle and Mutiny On The Bounty, before Irish post-punk powerhouse Sprints close out the evening.

"It's fantastic to have Mutiny On The Bounty back in Wiltz", Marc said. "And Sprints are a band I really love. Their lyrics are raw, they're energetic, and we're really looking forward to having them here."

More than just music

While Friday and Saturday focus primarily on live performances, Sunday transforms Garden Sounds into a family-friendly celebration.

"You can just spend the whole day in the garden, discover different things, enjoy the food and enjoy the atmosphere."
Marc Scheer

The day begins with young musicians from the Wiltz Harmony before continuing with storytelling, theatre performances, workshops, concerts, and even a silent disco. Families are encouraged to spend the entire day exploring the gardens and activities at their own pace.

"There isn't really any pressure", Marc explained. "You can just spend the whole day in the garden, discover different things, enjoy the food and enjoy the atmosphere."

Regional food, local wines, cocktails and craft drinks will also be available throughout the weekend.
