“It’s a sci-fi, fantasy, and horror fans nirvana,” Luxcon co-organiser Gérard Kraus told RTL Today Radio’s Tom Einarsson during a live interview. “We put it together in a way that we would like to be there and spend our time there.”

The Grand Duchy’s own Luxcon, running this year from 18 to 19 April at Forum Geesseknäppchen, promises to be a slice of sci-fi/fantasy/horror heaven. Included in their impressive programme are workshops, cosplay competitions, vendor booths, game demos, and panels from across the fandom-verse – fantasy authors, game designers, you name it.

If this sounds like it might be up your alley, organisers Gérard and Sandy said that the convention’s scope is quite expansive. “If you’re a fan, or if you’re even vaguely interested in anything sci fi, fantasy, horror, in TV, in games, in books, comics – whatever – you’ll find something that that you you can get into.”

Further, Luxcon has a welcoming social aspect to it. Gérard likened it to the atmosphere at a music festival where two people wearing Metallica t-shirts bump into each other and bond over their shared passion. But, Gérard added, “it’s not necessarily t-shirts. It’ll be like a Spider Man or Deadpool outfit and you immediately know.”

“And that’s where that’s how you get to talking to people. You might be schlepping around a book that somebody recognises and you talk to them about that. And that’s really what Luxcon lives off; these encounters between strangers that have liked the same sort of stuff.”

Luxcon, running on 18 and 19 April, is your one-stop shop for everything geekery and nerdom. Tom caught up with two organisers just before the 2026 edition
