Mexican instrumental duo Rodrigo y Gabriela, whose signature sound fuses influences from across the rock genre’s spectrum, are officially booked for a one–of–a–kind night at Rockhal on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. Beginning as buskers on Dublin’s Grafton Street, the pair soon rose to rock ‘n’ roll fame with their eclectic and unique mixing of classic rock, metal sounds, and Latin influences. Following the release of their first self–titled album in 2006, the duo have garnered a dedicated fan base around the world.
Their approach might best be described as elaborate instrumental duets on flamenco guitars – although long–time fans would argue that their sound is built upon layers and layers of rock history itself. Their debut album, ‘Rodrigo y Gabriela’, featured the twin breakout hits ‘Tamacun’ and ‘Diablo Rojo’ – expertly played instrumental tracks marked by a heated pace and sophisticated interplay – as well as two covers from the halls of rock music history: Led Zeppelin’s ‘Stairway to Heaven’ and Metallica’s ‘Orion’. The album, when it released in 2006, surpassed Arctic Monkeys and Johnny Cash in the Irish Album Charts to reach the top spot.
They’ve toured extensively ever since, released a succession of successful instrumental albums, and went as far as to win a Grammy Award in 2020 for their fifth studio album, ‘Mettavolution’, which featured a cover of Pink Floyd’s song ‘Echoes.’ To celebrate their illustrious careers in instrumental music, Rodrigo y Gabriela will next embark on a 20th anniversary tour across the United States and Europe.

Hitting the stage at den Atelier on 20 May, 2026, tickets for the show officially went on sale on Friday, 12 December. For fans of innovative instrumentals, broad–spectrum rock ‘n’ roll fusion, and expert guitar–playing, Rodrigo y Gabriela are a go–to choice – if not household names already.
