The explosive four-piece are sonically riotious and lyrically sharp – and considered one of the most interesting rock bands Gen Z has to offer.
They've got metal, they've got pop-punk, they've got grunge – you name it, really.
They’ve got metal, they’ve got pop-punk, they’ve got grunge – you name it, really.

Narrowing Die Spitz’s sound down is no easy task. At times a razor-edged metal band, at times a 90s riot grrl punk outfit, it’s like they’ve boiled the last 30-or-so years of heavy rock ‘n’ roll into a potent (and highly caustic) concentrate.

One thing is for certain. Die Spitz have quickly become one of the genre’s most interesting outfits, consistently breaking moulds and remixing their own sound in the name of something totally fresh.

Their latest album, Something to Consume, speaks to this fact. To call it a straight-forward metal album would be an understatement. Rather, it’s a heavy riff on grunge-y, punk-flavoured sounds, a fresh and genre-bending LP that foregrounds rock first and foremost. Released in September 2025, it’s a solid primer for the four-piece’s sound.

Their political messaging – against oppression, against authoritarianism in any shape or form – shines through in their lyrics, with vocal duties shared by three of the band’s four members.

With an already stellar line-up lined up for this year’s Out Of The Crowd Festival at Kulturfabrik, there’s now a further musical highlight to look forward to in Esch-sur-Alzette. Tickets for Die Spitz’s show on Wednesday, 17 June are now available.

Ear plugs might a good idea, too.
