While President’s on-stage costumes dip into the uncanny valley, their sound is anything but. Rather, the anonymous quartet dip their toes into many different genres: the rock sounds of metalcore, post-hardcore, and emo garnished with soaring electro rhythms.
President were completely unknown (and had not released any music) when they were announced on the line-up of Download Festival 2025 – sparking immediate speculations regarding their musical and personal identities. But the gambit succeeded, with the band now boasting over a million monthly listeners on Spotify alone.
Much of their success is owed to their unique aesthetic and stage presence. Their live shows sees the four-piece with their faces covered, the frontman sporting a creepy, wrinkled mask reminiscent of an elder statesman. Simply called The President, he is joined by Heist on guitar, Protest on bass, and Vice on drums.

Neon crosses and podiums further adorn the stage, adding to the unique sights and sounds fans have come to love. But fans note that for all the elaborate showmanship, the quartet are indeed a refined metalcore outfit, deftly blending disparate rock genre sounds and electronic beats with existential lyrical themes.
Following the runaway success of their debut EP King of Terrors in 2025, the band released a new single, Angel Wings, on 18 February. This coincided with the announcement that they had officially signed with Atlantic Records – solidifying their meteoric rise.
For those that would like to join President on their way to electro-metalcore stardom, tickets to their show at den Atelier on 9 June will go live on Friday, 27 March at 10am.
