Having only just released his latest album, Traces, US-Irish singer and composer Michael Patrick Kelly will hit the stage at Luxembourg’s Rockhal to present his unique blend of earnest lyricism with catchy pop hooks on 30 April, 2026. Kelly, once part of the multi–generational supergroup The Kelly Family, has since embarked on a solo career and served as a voice coach for the television series The Voice of Germany.
Having grown up in a musical environment, the musician left The Kelly Family in the mid–2000s to join a monastery. After becoming a practicing monk, he spent six years studying philosophy and theology before he once again felt the calling to make music. Encouraged by his monastic brothers, he returned to secular life in 2010 to re–launch is musical career.
Kelly, who commands a unique, four–octave voice, has also appeared on The Voice of Germany, serving as a voice coach for both the main series and spin–offs The Voice Senior and The Voice Kids. His albums have found exceptional success in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, with his latest release, Traces (released 31 October), topping album charts in Germany and Austria in November 2025.
His style melds meaningful lyrics, drawing on the ups and downs of his own life, with touching and catchy pop–inspired songwriting. A recurring theme throughout is one of straightforward humanity: simple yet uplifting, real but with added emotional flourishes.
Traces, in particular, reflects this singular approach. On the day that Michael Patrick Kelly’s father died, he was wearing a T-shirt that read “Many people walk into your life but only few leave traces.” This sentiment, so powerfully expressed in his new album, is a major red thread. And one with which listeners have profoundly connected.
Following a record-breaking tour and the resounding success of his latest release, “Paddy” has now set his sights on Luxembourg with a concert at Rockhal on Thursday, 30 April 2026.
