With this rollout, HBO Max is now available across nearly all of Europe, leaving only the UK and Ireland still to come.
For the first time, audiences in these regions will have a single home for content from HBO, Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Television, DC, and Max Originals. The service’s lineup features hit series such as The Pitt, It: Welcome to Derry, House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, The White Lotus, and Euphoria, as well as blockbuster films including Superman, The Batman, Dune, and the Harry Potter franchise. The launch also arrives ahead of the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, which HBO Max will stream live from 6–22 Febuary.
Alongside the date announcement (according to Variety), HBO unveiled a slate of new local originals. In Germany, W&B Television is developing 4 Blocks Zero, a prequel to its acclaimed gangster drama 4 Blocks, as well as Banksters, a true heist drama. Additional projects include a Beetz Brothers documentary on the theft of the “Big Maple Leaf” coin from Berlin’s Bode Museum and a Struwwelpeter thriller series from Dark creators Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar.
In Italy, upcoming highlights include Melania, a drama revisiting the 2011 murder of Melania Rea and starring Maria Esposito, and Portobello, Marco Bellocchio’s Venice-premiering series arriving Feb. 20. New Italian docuseries will include Gina Lollobrigida: Diva Contesa, exploring the fierce disputes over the actress’s legacy, and Saman, chronicling the tragic story of a young Pakistani woman killed by her family after rejecting an arranged marriage.
