In a recent social media post, the Luxembourg Open Air Festival announced the cancellation of the upcoming Season Closing edition, which was meant to be held on 11 and 12 September 2026.
"The Metzeschmelz site", the postby LOA reads, "is currently under construction, and the latest developments bring logistical challenges that make it impossible for us to host a LOA Festival edition at the standard we hold ourselves to."
"We explored several alternative solutions, but unfortunately, none of them would allow us to deliver the experience you deserve."
The organisers explored alternative sites across the Grand Duchy before resolving to cancel the Season Closing edition.
Tickets to the festival on 11 and 12 September, the organisers emphasise, will still remain valid for the upcoming Season Opening edition on 21 and 22 May, 2027. Those festivities will take place at the Place de l’Académie in Belval, Esch-sur-Alzette.
Ticket holders can also request a refund – and will have received an email from LOA's ticketing provider with the option to do so.
Tickets for LOA's Season Opening in May 2027 are already on sale on their website (and at their very cheapest right now).
