On top of an already packed schedule, the programme for next year’s Luxexpo Open-Air programme now also boasts a flagship electronic show: Paul Kalkbrenner.
A master of layered, emminently danceable productions, Kalkbrenner is noted for his unique approach to live performances. Instead of playing his tracks in the conventional sense, he breaks them down into smaller pieces and reassembles them live for every show – which is why he is considered a live act rather than a straight-forward DJ.

Paul Kalkbrenner grew up in East Berlin and was thirteen years old when the Berlin Wall fell. Immersing himself in the world of techno during the 90s, he would eventually emerge as part of a new wave of electronic music in Europe and the world.
His sound, marked by grand, sweeping gestures and melodic beats, is best suited for a venue like Luxexpo Open-Air. Large crowds, sunsets, elaborate light shows, cool sunglasses. Indeed, Paul Kalkbrenner possesses a unique mass appeal, keeing his songs dense yet light, layered yet infectiously catchy.
The general sale for Paul Kalkbrenner’s concert at Luxexpo Open-Air on Friday, 17 July begins officially on Thursday, 5 February at 10am – although particularly excited fans can already sign up for den Atelier’s exclusive presale, which goes live on Wednesday, 4 February at 10am by signing up through their website.
