The pair will perform this Wednesday May 20th as part of a celebration marking two decades since the release of their breakthrough self-titled album, a record that helped turn the duo into an international live phenomenon.
Blending acoustic guitar virtuosity with elements of rock, flamenco, Latin rhythms and heavy metal, Rodrigo y Gabriela carved out a sound entirely their own. Their music combines technical precision with huge energy, transforming influences from bands like Led Zeppelin and Metallica into something completely unique.
Their 2006 album Rodrigo y Gabriela, produced alongside legendary British producer John Leckie, became the first instrumental record ever to debut at number one in Ireland. Tracks like Tamacún and Ixtapa quickly became fan favourites, while their reworkings of Stairway to Heaven and Metallica's Orion introduced the duo to rock audiences around the world.
Since then, they've built a reputation as one of the most captivating live acts in contemporary instrumental music, playing sold-out shows at iconic venues including Red Rocks Amphitheatre and the Hollywood Bowl, while also picking up a Grammy Award in 2020 for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album.
