According to a statement issued by the Trier police, investigations revealed a prior altercation between the 70-year-old woman and the assailant. Subsequently, the perpetrator brandished a firearm and threatened her with the words, “I’ll blow your head off,” before fleeing in an unknown direction.
Amid a thorough search operation employing “significant resources,” law enforcement managed to trace the suspect’s whereabouts to Markusstraße. Following the successful identification of the residence and the establishment of a secure perimeter, officers apprehended the 54-year-old man within his flat shortly before 11pm.
The firearm recovered from the perpetrator was determined to be a “compressed air weapon,” though its legal classification remains pending further investigation by authorities.
