The star footballer was accused of rape by Najila Trindade Mendes de Souza on 1 June. She lodged a formal complaint against the Paris Saint Germain player and claimed that the incident occurred in a Paris hotel room in May.
Neymar reportedly talked to the woman on Instagram and arranged her flights to Paris.
The Brazilian footballer has argued that the allegations were untrue. Another report, however, had stated that Trindade had been heavily bruised - the charges were nevertheless dropped due to contradictory statements from the victim.
The video below may be a turning point in the investigation as it might allow to determine what actually happened between Neymar and Trindade. It was secretly filmed on a mobile and reportedly shows the second meeting between Neymar and Trindade.
Trindade’s lawyer explained that her client had filmed the meeting to prove Neymar’s guilt. “She told me about the second meeting was that she needed proof of the aggression, that Neymar had hit her,” he said.
The footballer’s father told Record TV that “the video is only going to show that Neymar was assaulted.”
“She provokes an aggression so that he responds, but he realises that everything that was happening was a set-up.”
