The driver of the car lost control of their vehicle and struck an oncoming minibus at around 2.30pm on Saturday. The 24 year old driving the car passed away from his injuries in hospital, while the passenger suffered serious injuries.
A 61 year old man travelling in the minibus died at the scene of the crash. The seven other occupants of the vehicle were taken to hospital for treatment. The air rescue helicopter was deployed.
An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Emergency services closed the route between Nusbaum and Bollendorf for several hours in order to gain access.
