
A girl aged four and her 15-year-old brother died in a fire that broke out in a house in Folschviller this Saturday. According to the local emergency services, three more people suffered injuries. Two of them were severely injured.
The 70-year-old grandmother of the two children suffered severe burning injuries on her legs and her back. A 25-year-old man was also injured.
A fifth person, who was lending a helping hand before emergency services arrived at the scene, was also severely injured on his hands and arms.
The 15-year-old teenager was unable to escape the first floor when the fire broke out. A total of nine people were inside the building.
A psychological support unit is looking after the family members and other people involved in the incident.
Around 60 firefighters were at the scene.
The origin of the fire has not been determined. An investigation has been launched.
