Emergency crews from three German municipalities responded to a fatal tractor accident Thursday evening near the Luxembourg border, where a farmer lost control of his vehicle on a steep meadow slope.

A 52-year-old farmer from Arzfeld died in a tractor accident on Thursday evening near Plütscheid in Germany’s Eifel region, approximately 10 kilometres from the Luxembourg border.

The incident occurred at approximately 6.30pm while the victim was working on a meadow between Plütscheid and Geweberhof. According to preliminary reports, the farmer lost control of the vehicle, which then plunged down a steep slope and overturned multiple times. The man sustained fatal injuries in the crash.

Emergency services, including firefighters from Plütscheid, Waxweiler, and Prüm, paramedics, a rescue helicopter, and police from Prüm, responded to the scene.
